Fifth Third adds senior commercial lender

Seven-year company veteran coming from Cincinnati

The Tennessee affiliate of Fifth Third Bank has added a company veteran from headquarters to its commercial banking team.

Garland Robeson IV comes to Fifth Third’s local operation as vice president and senior commercial relationship manager of mid-corporate banking. In the company’s hometown of Cincinnati, he was vice president and large corporate relationship manager, where he managed a portfolio of companies in a number of industries.

Robeson, who has been with Fifth Third since 2005, is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and holds series 7 & 63 licenses.

Fifth Third, which entered the Nashville market in earnest in 2004 with the acquisition of Franklin National Bank, has been steadily adding to its area footprint in recent years. Tennessee President and CEO Don Abel told Nashville Post this spring that his team's loan and deposit books grew 15 percent in 2011.
