LifePoint partners with Parallon
A pair of Nashville health care organizations are maintaining close ties with a recently inked deal, according to an announcement made today.
LifePoint Hospitals has tapped HCA’s Parallon Business Solutions to provide a portion of the nonclinical business functions for the soon-to-be-Davidson-County-based company and many of its facilities nationwide.
“To be successful in today’s healthcare environment, providers must deliver high quality patient care in a cost effective manner,” said David Dill, president and chief operating officer of LifePoint. “Working in partnership with Parallon, LifePoint can operate more efficiently and enhance our ability to focus our resources on the delivery of high quality patient care.”
The announcement points out that the deal with Parallon was born from the notion that LifePoint should adopt a shared services model for some of its business functions
“The sharing of centralized resources to support common business functions across multi-facility enterprises, while ... a common and successful practice across a wide variety of other industries for many years, is a relatively new and growing concept in the healthcare industry,” the release states.
Since it was originally spun off from Columbia/HCA in 1999, LifePoint has retained its close ties with HCA, which launched Parallon in May of last year.
