LP promotes two division chiefs

Siding, engineered wood execs will report to CEO Stevens

Louisiana-Pacific has promoted two veteran executives leading its siding and engineered wood products segments, which in 2011 combined for $633 million in sales and more than $26 million in operating profits.

Brad Southern has been named senior vice president and general manager of siding. He joined LP in 1999 and has led its siding business since 2005. Southern began his career with MacMillan Bloedel as a forester and has bachelor's and master's degrees in forest resources from the University of Georgia.

Brian Luoma has been promoted to senior vice president and general manager of engineered wood products. Luoma joined downtown-based LP in 1987 and has headed the EWP business since 2006. At LP, he also has worked at the company's oriented strand board unit and was vice president of procurement, supply management and logistics. He holds a bachelor's in forestry from Humboldt State University and has completed the Executive Development Program at the University of Tennessee Center for Executive Education.

Both Southern and Luoma will report to CEO Curt Stevens.

“I’m very pleased to announce these promotions, which recognize the critical importance of the general manager role to LP as well as the strong leadership and dedication both Brad and Brian bring to these positions,” Stevens said.
