Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia names dean, program director
Christopher P. Hulin has been named dean and program director of the Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia, effective July 1.
Hulin, who was previously assistant program administrator, will replace MTSA Vice President, Dean and Program Administrator Mary Elizabeth “Ikey" DeVasher, who served the Madison-based institution for nearly 40 years.
“We know Dr. Hulin will honor the legacy of Dr. DeVasher as he oversees the turning of a new chapter in the future of the school with such advancements as the implementation of the doctor of nurse anesthesia practice degree,” Dr. Kenneth Schwab, MTSA president, said in a release.
In addition to his role at MTSA, Hulin works as an anesthesia provider at Sumner Regional Medical Center and Nashville General Hospital. He holds licenses in Alabama, North Carolina, Nebraska, Kentucky, Texas and Tennessee.
Prior to joining MTSA, Hulin practiced anesthesia with Southern Tennessee Anesthesia Associates at Crockett Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Tenn.
Hulin earned his doctor of nursing practice degree with a focus in education from Samford University. He also holds degrees (three master’s, a bachelor’s and an associate’s) from five institutions.
