ICA to help create national health information exchange

Locals join forces with Pa. company on 'exciting departure'

Informatics Corp. of America has joined forces with AlliedHIE, a peer based in Harrisburg, Pa., to create a nationwide health information exchange.

According to an announcement from the companies Tuesday, the goal of this HIE will be to “identify specific technology and communications issues within healthcare organizations and offer information exchange solutions to solve these problems.”

“Our partnership with AlliedHIE represents an exciting departure for ICA,” said Gary Zegiestowsky, president and CEO of ICA. “Allied’s commercial HIE approach eliminates traditional sustainability concerns [...] by addressing specific information exchange business needs. Their strategy fits well with our new volume solution deployment methodology that offers clients specific solutions for specific needs.”

As part of the partnership, AlliedHIE will create a clinical messaging pilot for NHS Human Services, which, according to the companies' announcement, is the nation’s largest behavioral health provider.
