Einstein Bros. preps Franklin location

Bagel joint takes over Jack In The Box spot

National bagel and coffee chain Einstein Bros. is coming to Franklin as it looks to build a regional network.

The company's first Nashville-area store will occupy the former site of the Jack In The Box on South Royal Oaks Boulevard in Franklin, which was closed during the fast-food chain's 40-restaurant cutback in 2010.

Einstein Noah, the bagel shop's corporate parent, began a franchising and licensing expansion effort in 2006. There are already several licensed Einstein Bros. locations throughout Tennessee with franchised locations in Knoxville.

Media reports earlier this year out of North Carolina indicate franchisee Phil Rice, who already owns four Charlotte-area Einstein Bros., planned an 11-store expansion there and in the Nashville area.

Einstein Noah (Ticker: BAGL) runs more than 700 locations in 39 states and in the District of Columbia. It posted a profit of $3.2 million on sales of $105 million in the first quarter of this year.
