BofA loses SVP to Wells
Wells Fargo has beefed up its local commercial operations with the hiring of a veteran Bank of America manager.
Treasury management specialist Renee Cantrell has joined Wells as a senior vice president, the same title she held at BofA, where she spent more than two decades. In her role, Cantrell will market treasury services to companies sales of $25 million to $750 million. She will report to Atlanta-based Jim Walsh, treasury management sales manager for Wells’ commercial operations.
“I have respected Renee as a competitor and I am now very pleased to have her as a Wells Fargo colleague,” said Sam Belk, senior VP and regional manager of commercial banking for Wells’ Southern Division. “She brings additional expertise to our team that will certainly benefit our clients.”
Cantrell's exit from BofA is the latest in a series of recent moves away from that company. Previously, Willie Diehl left for Pinnacle and Karen Bell jumped to Chase. A Goodlettsville native, Cantrell is a graduate of Belmont University and is a Certified Treasury Professional. She is a member of the Nashville Association for Financial Professionals and a past board member of the Nashville Children’s Theatre.
Wells Fargo, which has $1.2 trillion in assets, is the region’s No. 10 deposit holder. The company entered the Nashville retail market in earnest a few years ago when it acquired Wachovia.
