Franklin Synergy hires assistant CFO

Former Capital Bank exec returning to MSA from Cookeville

Franklin Synergy Bank has recruited an industry veteran and former Capital Bancorp executive to be its assistant CFO.

Sally Kimble has joined four-year-old Franklin Synergy as a senior vice president. In her role, she will work with CFO and co-founder Lisa Musgrove. Kimble comes to Franklin Synergy from $140 million American Bank & Trust of the Cumberlands in Cookeville, where she was executive VP, COO and CFO. Before that, she was CFO at the parent company of West End-based Capital Bank & Trust, which was acquired in 2007 by regional player Renasant. She began her banking career began at First Bank & Trust in Mt. Juliet.

"Franklin Synergy has grown rapidly since we opened in November of 2007,” said President Richard Herrington, whose bank earlier this year passed $500 million in assets. “Sally is a great complement to our team of financial professionals.”

Kimble holds a B.A. from the University of Tennessee and certificates from the Graduate School of Bank Investments and Financial Management at the University of South Carolina and the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. She also has a certificate from the College of Financial Planning in Denver.
