Metropolitan Bank, the $600 million lender that last year began building a local footprint, has set up a mortgage team led by a former Bank of Nashville manager.
Metropolitan, which last year set up shop off Moores Lane in Brentwood, has picked Michael Dorris to lead its Middle Tennessee mortgage push. Dorris has 14 years of industry experience. Since earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee and his MBA from Lipscomb University, he worked at the former National Bank of Commerce before joining The Bank of Nashville, a division of Georgia-based Synovus Financial.
Joining Dorris are mortgage specialists Patte Huff and Brian Jordan, who were with The Bank of Nashville and Reliant Bank, respectively, as well as processing specialist Beth Besch, who also had worked at Reliant.
“I’m thrilled to be bringing on some talented individuals with whom I worked while I was president of NBC Nashville,” said Bill Menkel, Nashville president for Metropolitan. “We couldn’t be more impressed by the level of experience, knowledge and commitment to client service seen in this fantastic group of associates.”
Metropolitan officials also said they are close to landing on an office site in Nashville and hope to open their doors there during the fourth quarter.
Metropolitan is co-headquartered in Memphis and Ridgeland, Miss., and runs a total of six offices in Mississippi and Tennessee.
