Emma adds creative director

Chris Korbey brings strong design background to Nashville company

Chris Korbey has joined email marketing and online communications firm Emma Inc. as creative director, company leadership announced today.

Korbey will be responsible for overseeing the brand experience for Emma’s customers and business partners.

“Chris brings an incredible amount of experience to Emma," Emma CEO Clint Smith said in a release. “And in addition to being a great designer and leader, he's passionate about his work, curious about the world around him and an all-around likeable guy. We’re lucky to have him joining our team.”

Before joining Emma, Korbey founded and worked as creative director for Meat+Bones, a Dallas-based boutique strategic marketing and creative agency. At Meat+Bones he spearheaded all projects for clients, which included Southwest Airlines, Stetson, T-Mobile, PayPal and The Crow Collection of Asian Art, among others.

Korbey previously served as the design director for Sequel Studio, a branding, marketing and communications agency in New York City. At SS, he acted as creative lead for the global rebranding of the $4 billion software giant Computer Associates.

Korbey also gained art and design management experience at Addison, Weymouth Design and Bergeron Creative Group, working with many internationally respected brands, including American International Group Inc., General Mills, McGraw-Hill, the University of California at Los Angeles, the University of Connecticut and the University of Massachusetts.

Korbey’s work has been recognized in design shows and major publications, including Communication Arts, Print Magazine, The New York Art Director’s Club, AR100 and GRAPHIS. In addition, his work is included in the permanent collection of the Museum fur Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg.
