Nashville International Airport officials announced Friday the facility will offer seasonal nonstop flights to Cancun and Jamaica, beginning May 26 through October 27.
Both flights will depart BNA once per week via Sunwing Airlines, in conjunction with VacationExpress, a travel booking agency.
“The Airport Authority, in conjunction with the airlines, is always looking for opportunities to expand our air service and provide more destinations for our travelers,” Raul Regalado, president and CEO of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, said in a release.
To date, BNA offered only one nonstop flight to an international city (Toronto).
Sunwing’s aircraft, a Boeing 737, will accommodate 189 passengers on the nonstop, three-hour flights to Montego Bay in Jamaica and Rivieria Maya in Cancun.
Passengers must book the flights as a complete vacation package online. Travel packages start at about $1,000, including the flight, lodging, meals and beverages at a resort for a seven-day stay.
