An Atlanta radio personality is claiming negligence by the West End Hotel Indigo cost him more than $8,000.
Jeff Dauler, executive producer and a cast member of The Bert Show, an Atlanta-based syndicated morning program, stayed at the hotel in November 2010. While there, he claims someone entered his locked room, stealing numerous personal items and $5,000 in cash.
He is suing the hotel and its operator Mark Lineberry — who already is facing federal fraud and conspiracy charges related to the downtown Indigo — for $8,560 plus interest and an undisclosed amount of punitive damages.
In his suit — view the PDF here — filed in Davidson County Circuit Court, Dauler claims access to his room was controlled by a key card and suggests the Indigo had a pattern of negligence related to key security and burglaries of guest rooms.
Dauler is being represented by Walter Winchester and Meryl Keegan of Knoxville's Winchester Sellers Frost & Steele.
