Regional wealth management firm Diversified Trust has promoted its COO to the role of president and moved him to its Nashville office from Atlanta.
Nashville native John Seckman will keep his COO title at Diversified, which manages more than $4 billion and also runs offices in Memphis and Greensboro. Seckman has been with the firm for 10 years and was the managing director of its Atlanta office since its establishment in 2002.
“John is a leader for our firm and we are delighted to welcome him to Nashville in his expanded role of President and Chief Operating Officer,” said G. Thomas Curtis, managing director of the Nashville office. “By bringing John here, he can provide additional leadership and operating support to our firm’s offices throughout the Southeast. In addition, we look forward to introducing him to our clients in Middle Tennessee.”
Seckman's move to Nashville comes after Diversified CEO Larry Bryan in 2011 handed over the CEO role to former president Samuel Graham. The firm has added staffers at each of its offices in the past year and now is home to 66 workers across its footprint.
At Diversified's West End office, Seckman will work closely with Curtis, who has led the office since its establishment in 1998. Before joining Diversified, Seckman was president of an Atlanta-based registered investment advisory firm and was an investment director for the Delta Air Lines Pension Trust. He earned a bachelor's in business administration from the University of Mississippi, a master's of science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a law degree from the Nashville School of Law. He also is a chartered financial analyst.
