Former Crosland execs spin off new venture

Stewart, Dossett start development and construction firm

As Crosland Tennessee's office prepares to close, two of its top executives have spun off their own firm.

Ronn Stewart (at right in photo) and Burgin Dossett have formed Stewart + Dossett, LLC, a development, construction and real estate services firm. A minority-owned and operated business enterprise, the company offers a wide range of project experience in the commercial, hospitality, mixed-use and residential sectors.

Stewart and Dossett previously were part of the management team at Crosland, which developed Terrazzo, a condo tower in The Gulch, and amassed approximately 30 acres of land in the North Gulch as part of a land investment fund now owned by Northwestern Mutual Real Estate Investments.

The new firm will provide construction management services for the office and condominium build-outs at Terrazzo, on behalf of owner Canyon-Johnson Urban Funds.

"We are delighted that Terrazzo is Stewart + Dossett’s first project," Stewart said. "We know every inch of the property from our previous roles with Crosland, and we enjoy working with everyone on the Terrazzo team."

Stewart + Dossett also begins two other Nashville projects this quarter.

"We are very excited to work on the city’s new Gulch Greenway and Bikeway in conjunction with RPM Transportation Consultants and Hawkins Partners, and on the Omni Nashville Hotel with Mechanical Resource Group," said Dossett. "Both of these projects reflect the ongoing revitalization of Nashville’s urban fabric and our firm’s core principles of smart, sustainable development."

Stewart + Dossett will continue to provide consulting services, as needed, to Crosland’s corporate office in Charlotte and to Northwestern Mutual.

Stewart was development manager of Crosland’s Tennessee division, while Dossett was senior vice president and general manager of Crosland’s Tennessee division.
