Vanderbilt names treasurer

Former senior financial manager developed VU’s cash management system

Vanderbilt University has named Trey Beasley its treasurer, effective Friday, Dec. 21.

A VU graduate, Beasley (pictured) most recently served the university as senior financial manager.

Beasley joined the Vanderbilt finance team in 2007 after a 16-year career with JPMorgan Chase and its predecessor banks in Texas. During the past few years, he led the development of Vanderbilt’s cash management function into a comprehensive treasury operation that university officials describe as “preeminent” among VU’s peer institutions.

Beasley graduated from Vanderbilt in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, magna cum laude, and earned an MBA from the University of Texas in 1992. In addition, he holds the certified treasury professional designation.

“Trey’s experience and knowledge of Vanderbilt is a tremendous asset to the university as we move forward with efforts to steward our resources in the most effective manner in support of our academic priorities,” said Brett Sweet, VU vice chancellor for finance and chief financial officer.
