State unemployment rate drops to 7.6%

Figure is down from 8.2% in October

Tennessee’s unemployment rate for November was 7.6 percent, down from the October revised rate of 8.2 percent, Karla Davis, commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, announced today.

In contrast, the national unemployment rate for November 2012 was 7.7 percent, 0.2 percent lower than the October rate.

The state’s November unemployment rate is the lowest rate since October 2008.

During the past year, Tennessee’s unemployment rate has declined from 8.7 percent to 7.6 percent while the national rate has declined from 8.7 percent to 7.7 percent.
