Amos steps down as Tasti D-Lite CEO
Jim Amos will step down as CEO of Tasti D-Lite and Planet Smoothie at the end of 2012, the company has announced.
Peter Holt, the Franklin-based company’s current COO, will be promoted to the roles of president and CEO. Amos (pictured), who will remain company chairman, will pursue various endeavors, including serving on the boards of franchise companies and his advocacy in franchise and veterans’ affairs.
Amos, a franchise community leader with more than 30 years of experience, has been CEO of Tasti D-Lite since 2007, when New York-based private equity firm Snow Phipps Group (for which Amos serves as an operating partner) acquired the company. In November of last year, Tasti D-Lite acquired national smoothie franchise Planet Smoothie, launching a new co-branding initiative.
Before taking over Tasti D-Lite, Amos was chairman and CEO of Mail Boxes Etc., (now The UPS Store) where he grew the brand into one of the world’s largest franchisor of retail business, communication and postal service centers with more than 4,000 locations in 80 countries.
