Bridgestone names new HR chief

Exec's resume includes stints at Schwab, Lenovo, Pennzoil

Bridgestone Americas has named a new head of human resources to take over from Patti James, who earlier this year moved into another role at the tire manufacturer.

Darrin Rohr comes to Bridgestone from pharmaceutical services company Quintiles. He also has worked at Charles Schwab, Lenovo, Yamana Gold and Pennzoil-Quaker State. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Washburn University in Kansas and a master's in industrial/organizational psychology and business from the University of Tulsa.

“We’re committed to ensuring that our company attracts and retains smart, engaged teammates who are passionate about their work,” said Bridgestone Americas President and CEO Gary Garfield. “We are looking forward to using Darrin’s talent and expertise to build on our strengths and implement cultural change that will take our workplace to the next level.”

James in March of this year moved from HR to be Bridgestone Americas' vice president of shared services.
