Ground has been broken on 23Hundred at Berry Hill, a 266-unit apartment building to sit within the boundaries of the satellite city from which the development takes its name.

The five-story structure will anchor the southeast corner of the Eighth Avenue South and Bradford Avenue T-intersection. Co-developers Bluerock Real Estate LLC, the corporate office for which is in New York City, and Atlanta-based Stonehenge DCM, are projecting a 2014 completion, according to information on the Bluerock website. Bluerock owns an 82.5 percent stake in the 2.9-acre project, which is expected to cost almost $34 million to develop. Fifth Third Bank has made a $23.6 million loan to help fund the construction.

Stonehenge and Bluerock are co-developing Note 16 on 16th Avenue in Music Row.

The Bluerock website notes 23Hundred at Berry Hill will offer eight floor plans for its one- and two-bedroom units. The amenities include a saltwater pool with adjoining spa, outdoor grilling area with fire pit and cabanas, fitness club, rooftop lounge (with billiards, bars, and TVs), skydeck, songwriter’s lounge with karaoke, chef’s kitchens, cyber café, tanning beds, bike racks, electric car charging station, a pet park and on-site ATM machines.
