Veteran CCA director steps down

Memphis investor has been on audit committee since 2000

Longtime Corrections Corp. of America director Henri Wedell has told his fellow board members he will retire on Dec. 31. The 70-year-old Wedell is a private investor from Memphis who formerly was a senior sales executive at investment banking firm Robinson Humphrey. He has served as a director and a member of CCA’s audit committee since December 2000.

CCA’s board consists of 14 members, 11 of whom are independent. In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the company did not say anything about who might succeed Wedell.
