Evergreen At Werthan gets going

Southland has the $6.4 million contract to build a three-story, 73,000-square-foot mixed-use project to be located at the northeast corner of the Rosa Parks Boulevard and Hume Street intersection in Salemtown. The project includes 92 apartments — 82 one-bedroom units and 10 two- and three-bedroom units. While the permit indicates a mixed-use project, the only non-residential use is a small office and, earlier this month, the project's developers told NashvillePost.com they never considered retail for the space. The project (pictured below) was described as "unnamed," though a Metro ordinance names it as "Evergreen @ Werthan." The building will be located across Hume from Germantown's The Lofts at Werthan Mills.

More new office for Asurion

R.C. Mathews has the $1.5 million to rehab the plaza level of the south portion of One Century Place for Asurion.

Million dollar general

Dollar General will open a new location on Clarksville Pike. Group 1 Construction has the $1 million contract for a 12,480-square-foot store.

Healthsouth offices at VUMC

Doster Construction will rehab 8,000 square feet in Vanderbilt's Stallworth Building for offices for Healthsouth. The job totals $1 million.
