Keith Pitts, the vice chairman of Vanguard Health Systems, has been appointed to the board of directors of a San Diego developer of locations systems.
Awarepoint, whose products track hospital patients, equipment and personnel, earlier this year received an undisclosed investment from the Health Innovation Fund, which is run by the Heritage Group. Vanguard is part of a group of 10 health systems that have committed $167 million to Heritage Group to invest in health care technologies.
"With over three decades of experience and success in healthcare, Keith is a proven strategic and operational leader and we are honored to have him join our board," Jay Deady, Awarepoint CEO, said in a company statement linked here.
For Pitts, Awarepoint is the second board appointment in recent months. In October, the industry veteran was named to the board of San Antonio-based health IT company AirStrip Technologies.
