Brentwood-based accounting firm Byrd Proctor & Mills has been acquired by aggressive regional player Carr Riggs & Ingram, which entered Middle Tennessee in 2007 by buying Bumpus Hall.
The Byrd team of about 20 will move from their offices east of Interstate 65 to Carr’s base in 100 Oaks. Partners David DeMarco and Ron Mills are staying on board.
“The efficiencies created by this merger with a regional CPA firm will allow us to continue to deliver this statement,” said DeMarco. “We are looking forward to continuing to serve our clients while offering additional specializations and expanded services as a part of CRI.”
Carr Riggs Ingram is the South’s third-largest CPA firm and one of the top 30 nationally. It has 30 offices in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas.
“Nashville was ranked by Forbes magazine as one of the top 20 fastest-recovering cities in 2009, and we’ve experienced it ourselves in these last several years through a growing and diversifying local client base,” said William Carr, chairman and managing partner of CRI. “The expansion of the Nashville CRI team allows us to continue growing while delivering exceptional client service and creating additional depth of expertise.”
