FirstBank is preparing to break ground on a 4,700-square-foot office in Green Hills, the latest step in the company's expansion plans.
The branch at 2121 Abbott Martin Road — the site of a former U.S. Bank office — is set to begin rising from the ground late this year and is scheduled to open its doors next summer. It will be the third full-service location for FirstBank in Davidson County. The lender last year also opened a mortgage loan production office on 21st Avenue South near Hillsboro Village.
“Green Hills is an ideal location for us as we continue to provide convenient locations for our Nashville customers,” said Chris Holmes, FirstBank’s president since earlier this year. “We are continuing our commitment to the Middle Tennessee market through our growth initiatives.”
Holmes and his team have this year also announced plans to relocate their Cool Springs office and to build a new Rutherford County branch, while submitting a proposal to take up space in the historic post office building at Franklin's Five Points. Those moves have come alongside the recruitment of some big names to boost business development and business banking.
FirstBank finished the first half of 2012 with assets of more than $2.1 billion. The company posted a profit of $13 million in the first six months of the year, which was up from $8.6 million during the same period in 2011 albeit with the help of larger gains on the sale of loans.
