Electrical contractor founder passes on president title

Hall to focus on strategic planning at Stones River Electric

Twenty-two years after launching Stones River Electric, Jami Hall has ceded the position of president to her son and moved into a more strategic CEO role.

Rob Wilson was previously vice president at Stones River and will now oversee the company’s daily operations, including project management, business development and administration. Wilson has been working at the company — which provides lighting, electrical and signage work — for about two decades as superintendent, project manager and VP and has managed projects for Nissan, Metro and Procter & Gamble, among others.

“One reason that Stones River Electric has been so successful is because it always looks to the future,” Hall said. “For example, Stones River Electric was one of the first electrical contracting firms in Tennessee to specialize in energy-efficient projects, energy management and sustainable energy.”

Hall worked at A & E Electric in Nashville, which was owned by her father, until he closed the business in 1980. She then joined Omega Electric Co. and later Associated Electrical Contractors before setting up Stones River Electric in 1990. The company now has about 150 employees throughout the country.
