TNA inks sponsorship deal with Direct Auto

Wrestling promoter signs exclusive promotions package with insurer

Two Nashville-based companies — professional wrestling promoters TNA and automotive insurer Direct General Corp. — have inked a year-long sponsorship deal.

Through the deal, which runs through July 2012, gives Direct General's Direct Auto brand exclusive presenting sponsorship rights to all of TNA's live events and promotional rights to the group's television events, including the weekly "TNA Impact Wrestling," as well billboard sponsorship and exposure to TNA's pay-per-view events. The insurer also will sponsor TNA’s "Coastal Chaos Caribbean Cruise," slated for December.

“We have had the pleasure of working with Direct Auto Insurance on a number of our live events over the past several months,” said TNA Entertainment Chief Marketing Officer Al Ovadia. “The experience has been rewarding for both of us and the announcement today expanding that relationship to a national presenting sponsorship is incredibly exciting and a true win-win. Many of our fans and our wrestlers are already Direct customers and we are sure many, many more will join them in the coming months.”

As the exclusive presenting sponsor, Direct Auto will be incorporated into all promotional and advertising materials supporting each event, including TV and radio advertising, in-arena and in-studio exposure and "meet and greet" appearances at Direct Auto offices. The insurer will also be featured in all related marketing materials, on tickets and throughout digital media platforms.

“This partnership has already generated a great deal of excitement throughout the Direct Auto Insurance organization”, said Peter Tahinos, Direct Auto's senior vice president of marketing. “The TNA sponsorship gives us tremendous brand exposure to a passionate, loyal fan base that can truly benefit from the products and services we offer.”

The partnership will also include exposure in 52 episodes of "Impact" as well as multiple 30-second commercial units during SPIKE’s broadcast, each featuring TNA talent. Direct will support the partnership with additional exposure in its 386 stores and on various digital platforms.
