Moontoast hires VP

Internet retail veteran to lead business development

Social commerce company Moontoast has hired Geoff Smith as its new vice president and general manager of business development.

Smith joins the company with more than 15 years of experience providing top Internet retailers with e-commerce leadership, innovation and growth. At Moontoast — now based in Boston but with a significant Nashville presence — Smith will be responsible for developing strategic partnerships with large e-commerce, music, publishing and consumer brand partners. 

"Geoff brings significant retail e-commerce experience, leadership and industry relationships to Moontoast," said Moontoast CEO Blair Heavey. "With our success in the music sector and Geoff's addition, Moontoast has the most experience and the best social distributed commerce platform to help Internet retailers engage and convert more consumers at the point of impression."

Smith has served as senior vice president, e-commerce for Value Vision Media, Inc. where he was in charge of strategic direction and daily management of and ShopNBC.TV. His other roles include serving as senior vice president, interactive commerce for Shop At Home Network, a division of the E.W.Scripps Company, where he was responsible for online commerce for Shop At Home TV, Food Network Store, and the HGTV and DIY Store; president of the Internet division for Personal Creations; and director, AOL Shopping Channel for America Online.
