Nashville business leader and human rights activist Francis S. Guess has joined Seigenthaler Public Relations as senior advisor.
Guess, who recently left his role as executive vice president of management and investment firm The Danner Co., will support the firm's clients in the areas of public and community relations. He remains executive director of the Danner Foundation.

At Danner, Guess was the principal officer in charge of external affairs and the company's chief spokesperson. He previously served six years as commissioner on the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and 30 years as commissioner of the Tennessee Commission on Human Rights. Prior to entering the private sector, he also held two cabinet-level positions with the State of Tennessee during Gov. Lamar Alexander's administration and held positions in the Tennessee Housing Development Agency and Department of Correction.
Guess also owns and operates Helicopter Corp. of America a a private investment. He is the chairman of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, a life member of the NAACP and chair of the Nashville Minority Business Development Loan Fund.
