HealthGrades honors local hospitals

A group of Nashville facilities are among the nation's best

A handful of Nashville hospitals have been honored by HealthGrades for their treatment of certain procedures. Four, in addition to winning awards for various specialties, have been named as among the 100 best in the nation.

Saint Thomas Hospital was named among the 100 best in the nation for its treatment of strokes. The hospital was also given excellence awards for coronary intervention and neurosciences. It’s sister hospital Baptist also received an award for stroke care excellence.

TriStar’s Centennial Medical Center was named among the 100 best in both spinal surgery and prostatectomy. Also similarly honored in those categories were the Center for Spinal Surgery for the former, and Vanderbilt University Medical Center for the latter.

Vanderbilt additionally received an excellence award for neurosurgery.
