After five years of reporting and editing for NashvillePost.com and other SouthComm news outlets, journalist E. Thomas Wood has resigned to work full-time on a book project. As a result, other staff changes are in the works at the Post.

The duties of NashvillePost.com Editor Geert De Lombaerde will expand to include Nashville Post magazine. Erin Lawley, who has covered health care and technology since 2009, has been named managing editor of the Post’s online and magazine products.

Wood has set out to write a history of Nashville’s health care industry, under the working title The Nashville Model.

“I’m going to miss the adrenaline rush of daily journalism, and I’m particularly going to miss working with so many talented SouthComm colleagues,” Wood said. “But I feel that now is the moment to tell the full story of Nashville’s pivotal role in the American health care system.”

Wood’s other books include Karski: How One Man Tried to Stop the Holocaust (1994) and Nashville: An American Self-Portrait (2001). He has been a Nashville journalist for more than 20 years.

“We will miss Tom’s reporting and leadership at Nashville Post.
