Social Security expert joins Nashville School of Law faculty
Nashville School of Law has hired Steven Perrigo as instructor of Social Security Disability Law.
Perrigo has almost two decades of experience in Social Security issues to his new role. He worked at the Social Security Administration in New York and Tennessee for 17 years, most recently as assistant district manager in Columbia. Following his time there, he worked in Brentwood as national sales manager at Allsup Inc., which represents people filing for Social Security benefits.
“Mr. Perrigo brings a deep level of Social Security knowledge, both from the public and private sectors, that equips him to educate our students well,” said Judge Joe Loser Jr., dean of Nashville School of Law.
Perrigo's expertise ranges from the initial claims process to post-entitlement actions. Throughout his career, Perrigo has received numerous awards for his service in the field, including the Social Security Administration’s Special Act and Service Awards, as well as individual and group performance awards.
Perrigo is a graduate of the Nashville School of Law and received his bachelor of arts in political science at the State University of New York at Fredonia in 1993.
