Realty Executive Fine Homes of Brentwood is ending its association with the eponymous national franchise to take a local focus.

"We have enjoyed a very positive 14-year relationship with our franchise company, Phoenix-based Realty Executives International; however the economic changes in the marketplace, coupled with significant changes in real estate technology has created an environment that requires flexibility and a rapid response to agent needs, which can better be provided by an independent company,'' owner David Coulton said in a statement. 

The agency will now be known as RealtyTrust Residential, echoing RealtyTrust Auctioneers, also a Coulton firm.

While announced Wednesday, the move appears to have been in the works for some time. Coulton registered the domain name RealtyTrustResidential.com May 4 and filed paperwork creating RealtyTrust Residential LLC June 30.

The firm's Web site currently lists 81 agents.
