Moontoast names president and CEO

Social commerce venture hires veteran internet exec

Local social commerce venture Moontoast Inc. has hired Blair Heavey as its new president and CEO.

Heavey joins company co-founder and CTO Marcus Whitney in leading the strategy and execution of Moontoast, which late last year launched an online marketplace designed to allow businesses and individuals to connect around shared interests, expertise, goods and services.

"Blair brings an exceptional background and track record to Moontoast," Whitney said in a statement. "His proven ability to successfully lead teams in innovative ventures will enhance our current operations and guide Moontoast to becoming the leader in the social commerce market."

Heavey, who has more than 20 years of senior management and leadership experience in startup companies, has held roles with Open Market, Be Free, MyPerfectGig, North Bridge Partners and DirectoryM.

He replaces Stephen Collins, former officer at Juris and DoubleClick, who joined the business last summer as interim CEO.
