Wisner-Lynch named interim head of TTDC

Appointment follows Cromwell's resignation

The Tennessee Technology Development Corp. has named Dr. Leslie Wisner-Lynch its interim president and CEO.

Wisner-Lynch, who has served as a member of the TTDC Board of Directors since 2007, is the executive director of nonprofit life sciences organization BioTN Foundation. She fills the vacancy left by Eric Cromwell, who resigned from the post in May to "pursue entrepreneurial interests in the private sector."

Her appointment, unanimously approved by the TTDC board, is effective for one year.

"The TTDC board feels Dr. Wisner‐Lynch will provide strong leadership to the organization as TTDC continues to work with statewide partners and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development to increase technology innovation and business development in Tennessee,” said board chairman Dr. William Evans in a statement. "I very much look forward to working with her to build on our core programs in research and innovation, entrepreneurship and capital investment, providing additional alignment and a focused strategy that will further expand the state’s technology assets."

Wisner-Lynch previously served as director of applied research for BioMimetic Therapeutics, Inc. Currently, she also serves as a member of the Tennessee Valley Corridor Board of Directors and is chair of the board of directors for the recently approved STEM Prep Academy charter school in Metro Nashville.

The TTDC is a private, nonprofit organization focused on economic development strategies that create jobs and wealth in Tennessee.
