CPA to build new $12.8 million building
School in line for biggest expansion in history
Christ Presbyterian Academy has pulled a building permit for a new three-story, 75,000-square-foot school building on its Old Hickory Boulevard Campus.
According to a permit issued Thursday, American Constructors has the $12.8 million contract.
Richard Anderson, the school's headmaster, explained the capital campaign in the spring edition of Christ Presbyterian Church's newsletter.
"We're not seeking to build something ostentatious, or a monument to ourselves," says Anderson. "We are not moving forward on this building for the purpose of impressing people, but out of long-overdue necessity."
Anderson said the current building was designed to house 750 students. CPA has a student population of 878.
