Passport recruits Waller attorney to be GC

CFO hints at upcoming deals

Passport Health Communications has named Crista Harwood vice president and general counsel.

Harwood will handle the legal and contracting work for Franklin-based Passport, which markets revenue cycle management software. She was previously an associate in the corporate finance group at Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis. Before that, she was a financial analyst at General Motors and an industrial engineer at Ford Motor. She earned her law degree from Vanderbilt University.

Commenting on the appointment, Passport CFO David Whitt (who himself joined Passport just five months ago) hinted that the company – which two years ago was recapitalized to the tune of $232 million – is ready to do some dealing.

“Crista’s experience representing both borrowers and lenders in corporate financial transactions is a much-needed asset to Passport in this stage of our growth,” Whitt said. “Her familiarity with private equity financing and mergers and acquisitions will be especially important as we execute strategic expansion plans.”
