Hotel chain bringing jobs downtown
National hotel chain Loews will announce Wednesday that it is moving a large number of back-office jobs to downtown Nashville.
It is not clear if the company’s New York headquarters will be among those, but Loews Chairman and CEO Jonathan Tisch is traveling to Nashville to join Mayor Karl Dean and state Economic Development Commissioner Matt Kisber to announce the news.
The company has in recent weeks been posting job openings for a local “financial shared services center” that will employ human resources, accounting and purchasing staffers. Sources have told NashvillePost.com Loews is consolidating a number of back-office divisions that will employ about 200 people locally and that the company has signed a 10-year lease for two floors of the Fifth Third Center.
Loews runs 19 hotels and resorts in 17 cities across the country, including on West End Avenue. The company last month opened its latest property in Atlanta.
