Colliers back in the Nashville game
The Mathews Company is dropping its affiliation with NAI and joining Colliers International.
Nate Greene, a managing partner at the firm, said the change will take place "pretty much as of today."
"They came to us in February and we began to hear from their consultant who was down here doing the legwork," Greene said.
Colliers has been absent from the Nashville market since Turley Martin Tucker spun off earlier this year.
"They needed a presence in this market and we were considered the very best choice and we were the ones they came to," Greene said.
Locally, there will be few changes. Greene said ownership and personnel will remain the same despite the new affiliation – which is rare for Colliers offices, the majority of which are owned by the parent company.
From a broader standpoint, Colliers is changing its branding.
The firm will no longer assign geographic designations to its office; instead each firm will simply carry the Colliers International brand.
NAI Nashville is the product of a 2000 merger between RCM Realty – the brokerage arm of The Mathews Co. – and NAI Taylor Vaughn Greene, which had been associated with NAI since the early 1990s. The company changed its name from NAI Mathews Partners to NAI Nashville in 2006.
