Emdeon adding on at Airpark, SoBro garage rehab, condos on 40th, and more...

Health transaction intermediary Emdeon is adding 20,000 square feet of office space to the data center Solomon Builders is erecting at Airpark East. Wieck Construction has the contract on the $1.8 million addition but will not be able to get going on the project until the FAA is satisfied. Federal aviation regulators have no problem with the building itself, but a crane used during construction will penetrate the approach envelope for one of the runways at Nashville International Airport.

R.G. Anderson has snagged a $4.8 million contract to renovate a large section of MDHA's Hadley Park Towers near TSU. MDHA last year received Recovery Act money to upgrade several of its properties.

The Hilton Hotel/Gateway Commons parking garage underneath the plaza bounded by the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, Country Music Hall of Fame, Sommet Center and the downtown Hilton is set for a $500,000 rehab. Concrete repair work will be handled by Williams Restoration & Waterproofing.

Clothier J. Crew and shoe retailer Clark’s will be the newest additions at Opry Mills. Permits have been pulled for finish-out work at two spaces in the Donelson complex. Work on J. Crew, a $150,000 project, will be handled by Cahill. Montgomery Development has the $163,000 contract on Clark’s.

Multinational fabric firm Fiberweb is spending more than $2.9 million to construct a two-story, 31,000-square-foot research and development building on the company’s Old Hickory Boulevard campus. At a November groundbreaking, Fiberweb said it will use the R&D facility to develop new products for filtration, packaging and construction. J.E. Crain & Son holds the contract.

A six-unit condominium complex is planned for the intersection of 40th Avenue and Indiana Avenue north of Charlotte Pike west of downtown. Marcus Buckner will do the work on the 1,100-square-foot, two-bedroom, single-family units, each with a construction cost of $105,545.
