Waller names five partners

Firm now above national average of women partners

Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis has named attorneys Rebekah Fisher, Jessica Gichner, Shannon Goff, Kevin Kidd and Katie Stenberg partners in the firm.

Fisher practices real estate law with industry experience in shopping center leasing and commercial lending. Prior to joining Waller Lansden, she was an associate with the Cincinnati law firm of Dinsmore & Shohl and an adjunct professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Law. She earned her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati and was a member of the Order of the Barristers.

Gichner practices in the areas of commercial lending, mergers and acquisitions and securities. She represents borrowers and lenders in negotiating senior credit facilities and also provides counsel to lenders in structuring acquisition financing and working capital lines of credit. She serves on the firm's Diversity Committee and is a member of Leadership Health Care. She earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt University in 2002.

Goff practices tax law, including ERISA, employee benefits, incentive plans, ESOPs and executive compensation. She is a member of the firm’s Women’s Initiative Committee who graduated with an IMBA and a J.D. from the University of South Carolina. Goff also received an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University.

Kidd practices in the areas of financial services, electronic payment transactions, mergers and acquisitions and financial institution regulation. He is a member of the Electronic Transaction Association and serves on that group's government relations committee. He also is a member of the electronic financial services subcommittee of the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section. He earned his law degree from the University of Kentucky.

Stenberg practices in the areas of corporate restructuring, creditors’ rights, commercial transactions and commercial litigation for clients in the healthcare, aviation and real estate industries. Previously, she was Counsel-Commercial Operations for GE-Aviation in Cincinnati. She earned her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati.

“The naming of our 2010 partners represents Waller Lansden’s very serious commitment to diversity and continuing to put our words into action,” said John Tishler, chairman of the largest firm based in Nashville. “While many women attorneys across the country are transitioning out of law firms before achieving partnership status, Waller Lansden’s statistics go against that downward trend.”

About 21 percent of Waller's partners are women, which tops by two points the national average for law firms with more than 100 lawyers, according to the recent Law360 survey.
