Janet Jones resigns from Alive Hospice

Nashville nonprofit names interim CEO

Janet Jones has resigned as president and CEO of Alive Hospice effective Nov. 12.

Jones has spent more than 13 years with Alive Hospice. She helped the Nashville nonprofit open Alive Hospice Residence Nashville in 2000, acquire the Hospice of Murfreesboro in 2005 and open inpatient hospice units at Saint Thomas Hospital and Skyline Madison Campus in '06 and '07.

"It has been my very great honor and privilege to serve one of the most highly respected hospices in the United States," Jones said. "As I leave, I do so with continued support for Alive Hospice's mission and the knowledge that it will continue to thrive."

Barbara Cannon, a senior advisor of Compass Executives and 24-year Nashville resident, has been named interim CEO. Alive Hospice's board of directors is conducting a national searching for someone to permanently fill the post.
