Belmont names marketing exec
Belmont University has appointed Annie Mitchell director of university marketing and special initiatives and chair of the school’s strategic marketing team.
Mitchell fills the role vacated this past spring by Pamela Johnson, who took a VP role at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Johnson had brought national attention to Belmont by landing a 2008 presidential debate.
Before coming to Belmont, Mitchell was marketing director for ACT Inc., the nonprofit behind the college-entrance exam and other educational services. Before that, she served as director of media relations, communications and marketing for the Mississippi Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning. She is a graduate of the University of Iowa.
"Joining the Belmont family is an honor and a blessing," Mitchell said. "I am thrilled to be here, and I look forward to contributing to Belmont’s tradition of excellence through effective, strategic marketing across campus and beyond."
