Belmont to break ground on six-story dorm, Yazoo preps tasting room, new restaurant for Green Hills Grille space, and more...

R.C. Mathews is preparing for the construction of a six-floor dormitory at Belmont University. The $16.8 million structure will house 409 beds and will be built at 1805 Belmont Circle.

Centex Homes will move forward on its Oakhill townhome development at Nipper's Corner. The developer has pulled permits for six buildings with a total construction of $969,312.

Antioch's Lakewalk development will see another round of construction. Permits have been pulled for four structures, each 1,477 square feet. Greenvale Construction has been contracted for the work, which is predicted to cost $644,000.

The site of the former Green Hills Grille is going to see a new tenant. Alliance Corp. has taken out permits to rehab the space to make way for Mariah's Restaurant. The work includes the construction of a 700-square-foot addition to the front of the building. The work is expected to cost $605,000.

AmeriPlex at Elm Hill, the 250,000-square-feet, LEED-certified industrial park, will see a $592,368 round of construction. Paperwork was recently filed for the finishing of an 11,029-square-foot building for the offices of developer Holladay Properties. TRC Construction Services has been contracted for the work.

Charlotte Pike will soon see the construction of 3,755-square-foot Thornton's Convenience Market, near the split with River Road. Shaub Construction is handling the work, which is valued at $552,284.

Shaub also has been hired to build Chipotle Mexican Grill's first Nashville-area eatery in Green Hills. It will rehab  the space at 2021 Richard Jones Road for Chipotle, which runs 900 restaurants nationwide. The work is valued at $300,000.

Marquis Homes is moving ahead with another stage of its Stoneridge townhome development in La Vergne. The builder has pulled for three structures with a total value of $429,508.

Local favorites Yazoo Brewing is planning to set up a 83-seat tasting room at 910 Division St. The $400,000 renovation will clear out a first-floor space for the location. Consolidated Builders has been contracted for the work.

The building at 509 Mapleleaf Drive, near Nashville International Airport, will soon be reroofed. Roofix Inc. has been contracted for the work, which is valued at $287,900.

A former retail space at the Mall at Green Hills will soon go through a round of renovations to make way for a Wachovia Bank location. Dooley & Mack Constructors have been contracted to work on the space, which is located at 2124 Green Hills Village Drive. The work will cost $164,999.
