Sitel taps Dell veteran for COO post

Call center venture's CEO looks to bring in client perspective

Call center manager Sitel has named Bert Quintana global chief operations officer. He will be responsible for Sitel’s worldwide operations and report directly to President and CEO Dave Garner.

Quintana comes to Sitel from Dell, where he was vice president of Dell International Services, the computer maker's back-office support unit. He oversaw the company’s expansion into India, the Philippines and El Salvador as well as other contact center projects.

Prior to joining Dell, Quintana held executive positions at Westec Security, TYCO/ADT Security and MCI Telecommunications.

Sitel, which has more than 440 clients, runs more than 150 call centers around the world that employ more than 60,000 people. The company, a unit of Canadian conglomerate Onex, handles more than three million transactions per day.

Garner said Quintana “brings a client perspective on what is required to meet today’s high standards for customer care management. Armed with his expertise and global view, we aim to focus on further improving customer facing performance on behalf of our clients and the value that we add to their businesses.”
