Gullett firm adds two attorneys

The law firm of Gullett Sanford Robinson & Martin has added two attorneys to the firm.

Hiatt Collins has joined the firm’s insolvency section as an associate. Collins joins the firm after practicing for more than three years in the Birmingham office of Adams and Reese, where he was a member of the commercial litigation and appellate teams. He received his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School and an undergraduate degree in economics from Princeton University.

Rob Hazard joins the firm’s estate planning and probate section as an associate. Hazard will focus his practice in the areas of estate planning and probate, business planning and taxation. He joins the firm after working as a certified public accountant with Ernst & Young. He received his law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law, where he obtained a dual concentration in taxation and secured transactions. Hazard also earned an MBA in finance from Middle Tennessee State University and a bachelor’s in economics from the University of Tennessee.

Corker office names Ranalli state ops manager

The office of U.S. Senator Bob Corker, R-Tenn., announced that Betsy Ranalli has assumed the role of state operations manager, providing oversight and management of daily operations in Corker’s regional offices in Chattanooga, Jackson, Knoxville, Nashville, Memphis and the Tri-Cities.

Ranalli has been Corker’s field director for the Southeast Tennessee region based in Chattanooga and will maintain field duties for Bradley, Hamilton, and Marion counties in addition to her new managerial role. Before serving on Corker’s Senate staff, Ranalli worked as a consultant for his mayoral administration. Ranalli also worked on food labeling and regulatory issues for McKee Foods Corp. and was a fundraiser for “First Things First,” a nonprofit in Chattanooga.

Ranalli is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University and holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Burks promoted at KVB

Katcher Vaughn & Bailey Public Relations Inc. has promoted Neely Burks to an account executive position. Since joining KVBPR in 2008 as an associate account executive, Burks has specialized in media relations and community outreach for a variety of health care and civic growth and development clients.

As an account executive, Burks’ responsibilities include strategic planning, media relations, internal communications and community outreach. Burks holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

Hunt Brothers hires marketing VP

Hunt Brothers Pizza has announced the addition of Keith Solsvig as vice president of marketing. Solsvig brings more than 15 years of marketing experience, including eight years of success in the convenience store industry.

Before joining Hunt Brothers, Solsvig was at Tyson Foods. Prior to that, he served as the foodservice category manager for Thornton Oil Co. and also served as the regional marketing director for Aramark Campus Services.

Solsvig holds a bachelor of science degree from Miami University in Ohio and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas.

HMS hires five

Healthcare Management Systems Inc., a Nashville-based health information technology company, has recently hired Tina Brewer, Lisa Feltz, Allison Hopper, Schermonique Plainer and Rick Stuebing.

Brewer joins HMS as a senior accountant. Formerly a supervisor for BKD, Brewer is a certified public accountant and graduate of Western Kentucky University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Now serving as a clinical application support analyst II for HMS, Feltz previously worked as a customer technical advocate for Abbott laboratories. Feltz graduated from University of Northern Colorado where she earned her master’s in business administration.Hopper, a graduate of Nashville State Community College, joins HMS as a clinical application support analyst I, providing professional phone support to clients.

Plainer joins HMS as an implementation consultant after working as a senior support representative for CPSI. Plainer graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology. Stuebing, a new account manager for HMS, most recently served as a regional sales executive with 4medica Inc. Stuebing earned his master’s in business administration from Rollins College.

Freinberg named VP at Dialogic

Bob Freinberg has rejoined PlantCML as vice president and general manager of Dialogic Communications Corp., its wholly owned subsidiary located in Franklin.

Freinberg originally joined PlantCML in September 2001. During his seven-year tenure at PlantCML, he served as vice president of sales and marketing. Prior to joining PlantCML, Freinberg spent five years in international sales and marketing for start-up companies.

Freinberg has an undergraduate degree in marketing from the University of Baltimore. He also is a graduate of Michigan State University’s Graduate School of Business with an MBA in marketing, distribution and logistics.

FBM&M promotes Dunaway

Business management firm Flood Bumstead McCready & McCarthy Inc. has named Roger “Trey” Dunaway vice president of taxes and royalties. In this position, Dunaway will oversee all tax and royalty matters for the company’s clients worldwide and act as chief compliance officer for the firm.

Dunaway is the former director of finance at Universal Music Group, where he prepared business unit budgets and forecasts and oversaw accounting functions for the record label. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt’s Owen School of Management with a double concentration in finance and accounting.

change:healthcare increasing staff

Brentwood-based consumer technology company change:healthcare has hired Michael Vucovich as director of data architecture and Josh Owens as a data programmer. 

Vucovich comes to change:healthcare from Ermas Consulting, an Atlanta-based financial services consulting firm.  His health care experience includes time spent at both Emory University’s Robbins school of public health and Mercer health and benefits in the government human services consulting division. He holds a bachelor of arts degree from Dartmouth College and a master of public health degree from Emory University. 

Owens has been a web planner, developer and IT analyst for a number of companies including Ardis Marketing Group in New York, Intridea in Washington, D.C., and both Avon Products and Pomeroy Computer Resources in Cincinnati.  He’s also owned and managed his own businesses — Four Bean Soup, a Web application company, and Steelpixel, a company offering web hosting and technology services. Owens attended Miami University and the University of Phoenix.
