Johnson names new assistant DA

Antoinette Welch has joined the staff of Davidson County District Attorney General Torry Johnson as an assistant district attorney general.

Welch is assigned as a prosecutor in the Davidson County General Sessions courts. Prior to joining the DA's office, she was in private law practice, dealing in family law, contracts and probate.

Welch received her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and began her career as a Metro Nashville Police Department, where she worked her way up to sergeant. While working at Metro Police, Welch attended law school at the Nashville School of Law, earning her degree in 2000.
