Centerre Healthcare hires new senior VP

Former Community Health veep heads to rehab venture

Centerre Healthcare Corp., a provider of inpatient acute rehabilitation services, has hired Douglas Johnson as senior vice president of development.

Johnson will be responsible for all activities related to securing development partnerships with large Medical-Surgical hospital systems to bring acute medical rehabilitation programs to communities that promote the recovery of individuals who have functional deficits resulting from injury or illness.

Prior to joining Centerre, Johnson was vice president of acquisition and development at Community Health Systems. (Ticker: CYH)

He also has held previous positions as a senior manager with Ernst & Young's transaction advisory services group in Atlanta and worked for Partners Healthcare System and Arthur Andersen in Boston.

Centerre will open its fourth hospital-based program this fall in Wisconsin. Its other programs are in Missouri, Texas and Pennsylvania.
