Ford leaves Fox for the peacock
Former Senate candidate joins NBC's political coverage of 2008 presidential cycle
Former U.S. Congressman Harold Ford, Jr. has a new home on television.
After a year serving as a political commentator on Fox News, Ford will now be seen on NBC networks beginning this evening with coverage of the Indiana and North Carolina primaries. He will be joining their "Decision '08" team on MSNBC at 5 p.m.
Asked about the move, associates of Ford said that while the former Senate candidate enjoyed his time on Fox, he was used "sparingly and on 'shoutfest' shows like Hannity & Colmes." They said that they believe the format provided by NBC is a more natural fit and provides a better platform for Ford and other political commentators.
