Former administrator of courts changes course on Senate run
Randy Camp, former chief of Tennessee's Administrative Office of the Courts, has confirmed to NashvillePost.com this morning that he has reversed course and will be running for the State Senate seat being vacated by former Lt. Governor John Wilder.
Earlier this week, Camp told NashvillePost.com that he would not be seeking the office but says today that he has changed his mind. Reached by phone, Camp was traveling across the rural West Tennessee district this morning to file official paperwork by today's noon deadline.
Camp, who also served as Governor Phil Bredesen's first commissioner for the Tennessee Department of Personnel, will run in the Democratic primary. The most prominent contender for the seat so far is Republican State Rep. Dolores Gresham.
