Middle Tennessee industrial real estate veteran Buster Weber has been named director of business development at general contractor Commercial Industrial Construction Inc.

Weber was most recently a broker at Nashville Commercial Real Estate Services. Prior to joining that firm in 2005, he had been with ProLogis since 1994 and was heading up that company's local operations. The Mt. Juliet resident has been in the real estate sector since 1979.

"Buster will help us advance to the next level," said CIC CEO Jon English.

More names on the Avenue

The Avenue Murfreesboro, the massive retail center emerging along the new Medical Center Parkway in that city, has inked leases with a raft of retailers, two of which will fill up expansion projects.

Newly committed to the development, which is slated to eventually house 810,000 square feet, are American Eagle Outfitters, Old Navy, Haverty’s, Hollister, Massage Envy, Newk’s Café Express and Jared Jewelers. Developers Cousins Properties Inc. and Faison Enterprises say Old Navy and Haverty's are the first tenants to sign on for expansions of 19,000 and 30,400 square feet, respectively.

Cousins and Faison say the new leases lift The Avenue to 80 percent occupancy.
